Language class:

The Polish-American Community in Huntsville, Alabama, is a group of people representing several generations of Polish immigrants. Over the years our community has expanded enormously. We are part of a diverse population that tries to preserve Polish culture, language, and traditions through social gatherings and participation in local events.

One of our activities is teaching the Polish language to those who are interested. Since 1995 our group has gathered on a weekly basis at The Church of The Good Shepherd at 13550 Chaney Thompson Road, Huntsville, AL.

The Polish Language/Culture Class meets every Wednesday evening, October through May, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, in a room on the lower level of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. The entrance to the room is reached directly from the parking lot at the south corner of the main building. A sign outside the building identifies it as the "Meeting Room."

The first hour of the meeting is usually reserved for learning Polish vocabulary and grammar. The second part of the meeting is usually dedicated to discussions and presentations by guest speakers, and to singing songs and watching movies based on Polish culture.
